The wait is over. It’s time to get started with the games that matter and “stop kissing your sister”, as Phil Jackson describes the exhibition season.

  • Monday brought the announcement that Kwame Brown will start at Center for the Purple & Gold tonight, but didn’t bring any conclusion to the Kobe trade saga (aka “The Summer of Hell”). More quick hitters from Mike Bresnahan.

  • An in-depth preview examining the Kobe-Phil relationship and also including the five keys to the season, all by Kevin Ding (with a little extra in-depth previewhere).

  • “Team Turmoil” rolls into the season embroiled in a state of confusion and commotion according to Brad Turner. Anyone else think the Lakers might be doing the NBA a huge favor if they do indeed trade Kobe Bryant? Gregg Patton does.

  • The 07-08 outlook is still a bit hazy, but it’s a fact that star power has always helped the Lakers.
