Denver Nuggets v Los Angeles LakersWe broke down some of the more intriguing numbers from LAL’s 90-88 win vs. Denver in their third preseason game:

Combined fouls between the Nuggets and Lakers, with the two teams also combining for 77 free throws. In the fourth quarter alone, when Denver made a late push, there were 23 fouls called and 33 free throw attempts.

First-half points the Nuggets scored on 22.7 percent field goals. Overall, the Lakers held Denver to 33 percent (30 for 91) and forced 13 turnovers.

Combined points for Chris Kaman and Pau Gasol on 11 of 22 field goals in their first start together. The two also combined for 15 boards, five assists and two blocks. “He’s a smart player that knows how to play the game,” Gasol said of Kaman postgame. “He can do a variety of things out there, so he’s easy to play with.”

Rebounds for Jordan Hill – a game high – in 16 minutes off the bench. He finished with a plus-15, second-highest on the team behind Shawne Wiliams’ plus-17.

Free throws for Steve Blake in the final 46 seconds to help seal the win for L.A. Blake scored 16 points in 28 minutes off the bench, receiving all of the backup point guard minutes with Jordan Farmar sitting out because of a calf strain.
