We broke down some of the more intriguing numbers from LAL’s 132-125 loss against New Orleans:
Paint points for the Lakers, a season high. In five of the last seven games, L.A. has totaled at least 50 points inside. Part of that is due to the uptick in fastbreak points per game during this span, with the Lakers averaging 24.0 points in transition.
Percentage of field goals made by New Orleans towards 132 points. The Pelicans had five players in double figures, and three (Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon and Anthony Davis) finished with at least 24.
Points for Pau Gasol, a season high. The Spaniard added 12 rebounds, plus four assists on 10 for 15 shooting from the floor, and 9 for 14 from the charity stripe. He also moved past Joe Dumars and Jerry Stackhouse into 90th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with his performance.
Double-digit assist efforts in 33 games for Kendall Marshall after dishing out 10 in 22 minutes. For the third straight game, Marshall recorded at least 10 dimes, but was held scoreless for the fourth time in the last five.
Rebounds for Davis, to go along with a team-high 28 points and three assists. Davis started hot scoring 15 of his points in the opening quarter after two subpar performances in which he totaled just 21 points and eight boards.
